The procedure is very straight forward, you simply remove the factory shifter and then install your new quick shift shifter assembly.
STEP 1: Remove shift knob, this is typically just a matter of unscrewing the factory knob
STEP 2: Remove center console, it is held in place with several phillips head screws. Also in this step, remove the console mounting plate that is attached to the top of the shifter body. The console plate is held in place with 4 Phillips head screws. This will give you access to the three 13mm bolts that hold the shifter to the floor...but do not loosen/remove them yet!
STEP 3: Detach the shift tube from the bottom of the shift lever, this is under the car and the tube is held in place w/a single snap ring. Once the snap ring is removed, the ‘L’ shaped rod can be removed from the bottom of the shift lever assembly
STEP 4: Unbolt the reverse lockout shield from the bottom of the shifter under the car. This shield is held in place with three 13mm nuts. Removing these nuts will allow you to remove the three bolts from inside the car, the three that hold the shifter to the floor
STEP 5: The old shifter can now be removed from the car by removing the three bolts from inside the car that bolt the shifter to the floor.
STEP 6: Install the new quick-shift assembly such that the shifter portion is installed just like the original shifter was. The three spacers and reverse lockout shield are installed UNDER the car. So, install the new shifter, insert and tighten the three 13mm bolts that hold it to the floor, then under the car, add the three 1” aluminum spacers, the reverse lockout shield, and then the retaining nuts.
STEP 7: Reattach the shift tube to the bottom of the shifter and insert the retaining clip. It is a good idea to place a little grease on the inside edges of these rubber bushings.
