Then pick up one of my upgraded L-body shifter assemblies that has been modified to reduce the shift travel down from 5.5" to just 4" across opposite gears. (Like from 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 4th or 4th to 5th.) That is about 30% less travel but it feels quite a bit shorter and very tight. The shifting effort feels the same with no noticeable increase in shifting effort. It just feels so much nicer.

What you will get in exchange for your old but working and good condition* exchange shifter is: a completely rebuilt and refurbished unit that has the quick shift option already installed. I disassemble the complete assembly, refinish all the metal parts, clean and lubricate the rotator ball, springs and reverse lockout mechanism. The shift rod is repainted and baked, the other plates are also refinished and baked as well. High quality silicone based grease is used on the entire moving mechanism.
Everything needed for the installation is included. This is a plug-n-play system that works with the OEM shift mount and either the factory shift rod tube or the upgraded heim system with oil-lite bronze bushings installed. I only have units completely refurbished and upgraded currently available for exchange only. We no longer offer “no core” sales.
*ABOUT CORE SHIFTER EXCHANGES: Your core exchange shifter must be in good serviceable condition with no missing, broken, stripped threads, torn or ripped parts. We do not offer a partial core refund for shifters that arrive as a core exchange that are unacceptable or incomplete. We are not picky at all, worn or missing bushings are fine and not an issue, but if you ship us a broken, worn out, bent, incomplete, or heavily rusted shifter, any core charge that you have paid will not be returned and the cost to return your unacceptable shifter to you will be at your expense. The only exception is for a ripped shift boot, the NON-REFUNDABLE portion of your core charge for a ripped shift boot is $29. Also note that if you purchase a 5 speed shifter, you must return a 5 speed shifter as your core, if you purchase a 4 speed shifter, you must return a 4 speed shifter. Core charges are billed and paid separately via PayPal. Core charges are refunded within 2 business days once a core has actually been received, inspected, and accepted.
OUR CUSTOM ORDER QUICK SHIFTER POLICY
Because we exclusively manufacture custom, made to order, specialty parts for individual Shelby Dodge enthusiast and their unique cars, on the custom modifications for a quick-shifter we have a no returns sales policy and all sales are final. However we do offer a guaranteed fit and defect free product warranty so that if there is a problem with the fit or there is a manufacturing defect that somehow slipped by our QA, at our exclusive option we will correct it in a timely manner or issue the purchaser a prompt and full refund. Please note that once a shifter has been modified, it would have to be returned to us to be converted back to a standard length shift, which is possible, but please note that there is a $50 service fee to convert a quick-shift shifter back to a normal shifter if the service is not being performed due to a conversion defect of some sort. Return shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser.
