COMPLETE SOLID REAR DISK BRAKE UPGRADE (89 Style)
For all Chrysler K-cars from 84-93 such as Omni and Charger, Daytona, Shadow, Spirit, Lancer, Laser, etc. Completely refurbished, ready to install and run, solid (non-vented) rear disk brake set-up, complete with the following:
- (2) OEM solid disk brake hubs/spindles and mounting hardware
- (4) Inner & outer bearings cleaned and repacked (replaced if needed)
- (2) New inner grease seals
- (2) Caliper backing plates (left and right)
- (2) Remanufactured calipers (left and right)
- (4) New internal emergency brake shoes
- (2) New rotors
- (2) New rubber caliper to bracket hoses with copper sealing washers
- (2) All solid brake line mounting brackets
- (1) All internal small pieces (adjusters, springs, e-brake levers)
- (1) Set of semi-metallic disk brake pads
- (1) Correct OEM solid rear disk proportioning valve
What's not included:
Metal lines from caliper rubber hose to body rubber hose, body specific parking brake cables. The metal line is the line that goes across the swing arm. Just buy pre-flared brake line at NAPA/any parts store and bend your own.
Product summary:
This is the much preferred later, 89+ style rear disk brake design with the internal emergency brake system that uses the small brake shoes for emergency brakes, not the style that uses the caliper as the emergency brake.
Both left and right sides have been completely disassembled, cleaned refinished and reassembled. Bearings cleaned or replaced and repacked with Lucas synthetic red grease, rear bearing seals replaced with quality Timken brand. Calipers are freshly remanufactured and operate perfectly and have new guide pin boots and pins. Caliper brake pad glide rails are in excellent/perfect shape. You get new rotors, pads, calipers, hubs and the spindle. It's a bolt on upgrade.
If you have for example an 84-86 Daytona and want rear disk brakes, this set-up is a direct factory bolt on. If you have a Shelby Charger or any Omni, this is a direct factory bolt on. If you have a Scamp or a Rampage or an Omni with 4 lugs and you want to upgrade to a 5 lug set-up, this is a direct factory bolt on. Note that on early cars, prior to 84, if you do not have diagonal brake lines, you will need to upgrade your steel brake lines to use the included proportioning valve.
You can't buy the backing plates or any of the internal emergency brake parts, so this is rare and hard to find stuff. But it is worth it if you want rear disk brakes and you want to get it all at the same time.
