Product Description
Meet the newest addition to Patrick Collin’s classic performance car collection: a beautifully preserved 1983 Dodge Shelby Charger.
Patrick spent several years searching for the right car, not a half-finished project, not something dismantled in boxes, and definitely not a rust-riddled victim of road salt. He wanted an honest, well-cared-for, original example, and he finally found exactly that in Clemson, South Carolina.
This remarkable 82,000 original miles, non-turbo Shelby Charger still retains its original 110-horsepower High Output 2.2-liter carbureted engine, paired with the factory A525 five-speed manual transmission. Even the original two-tone paint remains in impressive condition, giving the car much of the same character and presence it had when it left the factory more than four decades ago.
Before Patrick discovered it, the Charger had been resting safely inside a private garage for 13 years. Fortunately, the previous owner had stored it properly, preserving the car rather than allowing time and neglect to take their toll.
When the listing suddenly appeared on Facebook Marketplace, Patrick could hardly believe what he was seeing. The detailed photos showed a car that looked far better than most survivors of its age. It was exactly the kind of Shelby Charger he had been waiting for.
He made the long drive to Clemson to inspect it in person, and the car did not disappoint. Patrick returned the very next day to bring it home.
Now, after years of searching, he is looking forward to getting behind the wheel of something rare, distinctive, and genuinely fun to drive. The Shelby Charger will soon be cruising local roads and making appearances at area car shows, where we are confident it will attract plenty of attention and more than a few admiring looks.
