Very clean and nice 2 piece intake to cylinder head support rod. Fits GLHS and 87-88 T2 engines with the 2 piece intake manifold. This rod is installed from the bottom of the 2 piece intake just under the throttle body and attaches to the rear side bolt of the cylinder head. It is installed to support the 2 piece intake and prevent it cracking under stress caused by the engine rocking during acceleration or decelleration and if the air cleaner bracket has been removed or is not physically attached. This support is needed nd should not be removed, or should be reinstalled if missing.
