This is the popular Dodge and Chrysler 2.2 and 2.5 Conical(Beehive) Spring, retainer, keeper/lock and +1 performance exhaust valve upgrade kit that is a favorite performance enhancement in the 8 valve swirl head (#782) turbo Dodge enthusiasts community.
By replacing the factory valve springs and valves with the improved conical (Beehive) spring and +1mm stainless steel performance intake and exhaust valves, you will get reduced valve spring harmonics, reduced rotational friction, increased max RPM capability and better through the valve exhaust flow...all of which will really reduce your valve train noise and wake up your turbo engine. Because of the unique design of a beehive/conical spring, the spring actually creates less force on the cam and rocker when the valve is closed when compared to being open (versus a traditional spring) allowing the cam to turn more easily, and reducing horsepower loss due to rotational friction. Increased spring tension on the valve when open combined with the lesser harmonics will reduce high RPM valve float and bounce. Adding a higher flowing swirl head (782) back-cut exhaust valve from Turbos Unleashed just rounds out the sweetness of the update package.
